Georgia’s Highpoint Challenge
North Georgia boasts 32 mountain peaks that are 4,000 feet or higher. Climb all 32 of them and you qualify as a Georgia 4000er and can sport our patch on your backpack or hiking shirt.
The Georgia 4000 Challenge is designed for members, hiking enthusiasts, adventurers, explorers and anyone who has done it all outside. The Georgia 4000 Challenge is a fun and challenging way to experience the Georgia mountain wilderness.
The Georgia 4000 Challenge Rules are simple and straightforward. Individuals tackle the Georgia 4000 Challenge at their own pace, select their own routes and record their own progress. All of the peaks can be reached on day trips.
To help you keep track, we have a GA4000 Peak List and Patch Application Form you can use as a log. Once you’ve reached all 32 peaks, complete the application form to receive a patch! Anyone who successfully completes the challenge will be listed on the GA 4000 Completer List (updated July 2024) which is updated annually.
