Find YOUR Path in the GATC
The Georgia Appalachian Trail Club has a spot for everyone. We are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of the Appalachian Trail and the North Georgia mountains that has thrived for nearly 100 years because of the volunteers who have become engaged in the leadership and operation of the Club. You are invited to join us and find out how you can grow while helping the Club fulfill its mission.
So Many Ways to Get Involved!
A sampling of committees – beyond our trail maintenance and trail ambassador programs – are:
- Outreach
- Hike leadership
- Finance
- Publications
- Website development, maintenance and management
- Cartography and GPS
- Tool maintenance
- Activity planning
- Photography
- Awards and recognition
- History and archives
- Public speaking and presentations
- Social media
- Legal issues
- …and a whole lot more!
Each month, the club hosts an online informational meeting where we discuss our mission, acquaint you with the many opportunities the club has to offer, and help you find information you need to engage in your areas of interest. Members and those interested in learning more can find these meetings on the Events page. You’re not limited to just a single path, so what trails will you blaze?
