**Workshop** Mapping
This mapping workshop is taught by Stewart Holt who has an extensive knowledge of GIS and mapping technology. Stewart has served as the GATC’s mapper of all new trail relocations since 1999. This class will be held at the Dahlonega Library and will include an introduction to QGIS, a free, open source GIS (Geographic Information System) program which is available on Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems. The course will cover the GIS data we have for the Georgia A.T., the available background maps and elevation data, and how to create a map.
