Waterfalls and Spectacular Views at Cloudland Canyon State Park
We’ll start on the Sitton’s Gulch Trail at the bottom of Cloudland Canyon State Park, one of Georgia’s most popular state parks. As we ascend the canyon, we’ll take two side trails to view both Cherokee and Hemlock Falls. There are lots of steps to navigate to the top of the canyon where we’ll break for lunch and then continue on with the West Rim Loop and return to our cars by descending the Sitton’s Gulch trail and all those stairs once again. There are newly-built areas to view the canyon along with spectacular views from the West Rim Loop. Terrain can be rough and rocky in places, so wear sturdy trail shoes or boots. A daily or annual state parks pass is required. Total mileage is in the 8-9-mile range with elevation for both trails at 1,282 ft. Trekking poles recommended. Hike is considered strenuous.
