National Trails Day: Byron Herbert Reece Trail Maintenance

Saturday June 6 – NATIONAL TRAILS DAY.  We will open the Byron Herbert Reece relocation trail to celebrate National Trails Day.  The old trail will need to be decommissioned at the same time, so the work will consist of raking or digging the trail tread to create a 3-inch layer of loose dirt to allow the native seed bank to revegetate. Dragging trees that are staged beside the trail over the trail.  The final step will be throwing leaves over the trail.  We will work from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m.  A lunch will be provided for all trail workers, so bring a chair.    If you need additional information, please contact Mark Clemens at maclemens51@gmail.com
