In Town Hike at Sawnee Mountain Preserve

The Sawnee Mountain Preserve in Cumming is a 963-acre park with 11 miles of trails. The mountain is named after a local Cherokee Native American, Sawnee.

The hike will climb the 5-mile wooded loop in the south side of the preserve and then cross the road to finish on the north side with a climb to the viewing deck overlooking the North Georgia Mountains. The hike is a total of 7 miles with about 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
