Exploratory Wildflower Hike: Park Creek Loop, Standing Indian Basin
This loop hike on the Park Creek and Park Ridge Trail is about 5.5 miles with 650 ft elevation gain. We will see varied terrain of moist and dry conditions, creeks and a habitat favorable for wildflowers. Be prepared for stops looking at wildflowers and wading through creeks.
For those interested in an additional exploration, we will drive to Rock Gap and hike on the Wasilik Poplar Trail to see the remnants of the large poplar tree and the glade of wildflowers along the way (about 1 mile, in-and-out).
Exploratory hike: hike leaders may or may not be familiar with the trail and have not scouted the trail recently. Participants should be prepared for unexpected trail conditions and possible changes in plans.
