Blood Mountain Hike Thru History

This will be a strenuous hike of about 10+/- miles, about 1,500 foot ascent and 2,200 foot descent. The pace will be moderate. We’ll start at the Byron Herbert Reece trailhead, hike up Blood, then follow the A.T., Duncan Ridge, and Coosa Trails to Vogel State Park. Along the way, we’ll talk about some of the history of the A.T. in the area: the restoration of eastern wilderness, Vogel State Park, and whatever else may come up along the way. Because we’ll spend much of the time in designated wilderness, the event is limited to 12 or fewer participants.
