Bartram Trail – Warwoman Dell to Pinnacle Knob
When we hike in the mountains, we all love to see waterfalls, hear the sound of water tumbling over rocks and gaze at spectacular views. This hike has all of the above with the added bonus of not one, but two beautiful waterfalls.
Let’s hike along one of Georgia’s longest trails – the Bartram Trail – starting at Warwoman Dell and climbing roughly 1800 feet over 8.5 miles to Pinnacle Knob. We will first pass the small, but lovely Becky Branch Falls. Two miles later we come to the Martin Creek Falls – two-tiered falls twice the height of Becky Branch. We’ll begin our ascent to Pinnacle Knob, turning off the Bartram Trail at 3.2 miles for the final ascent.
Most of our climbing is in the first half. It’s not steep, but it is a long climb so please be sure you are ready for this strenuous hike. Rosanna Rostad will co-lead.
