Signature Events

The Georgia Appalachian Trail Club hosts annual and biennial training and education events that are open to the public. Depending on the event, these events include special guests from the trail community, seminars, discussion groups, learning opportunities and more.

AT Gateways is an annual event held in partnership with Amicalola Falls State Park near Dawsonville. Held in early spring, this weekend-long event celebrates the Appalachian Trail and hikers setting out on what they hope will be a successful thru-hike. Watch for dates and details!

Our club is one of 31 Appalachian trail maintaining clubs. This event is a training event held each fall that provides courses for maintainers of all skill levels. Training is provided by invited professionals, U.S. Forest Service personnel and GATC maintainers with much experience.

GATC hosts the Women’s Trail Summit every other year. This event will support, engage, and inspire your adventures on the Appalachian Trail and other public lands and trails, promoting personal safety and awareness and encouraging women to become active participants who are comfortable in the natural environment.

This year’s Summit is at Amicalola Falls State Park. Details are available by clicking here.
