Workshop: Essential Trail Manitenance

This workshop is taught by Crew Leader Kelly Motter.  The workshop is recommended for anyone interested in trail maintenance and new section maintainers.  The workshop will concentrate on clearing corridors, deberming, backslope restoration, root and rock removal, blazing, fire ring management, basic water management and basic duties of a section maintainer. We will meet at Hogpen Gap and work both the North and South ends of the gap, traveling approx. 0.5 miles each way with a gentle climb on either side of the gap.

Hard hats, work boots or sturdy shoes (no sandals or open-toed shoes), long pants (no tights or leggings), and work gloves are required for the trip. Hard hats and work gloves will be provided for you if you don’t have your own, and you are welcome to bring your own hard hat, work gloves, and tools, if you choose.  If you need additional information, please contact Kelly Motter at kellylee28@aol.com.
