Volunteering is a great way to give back.
There are many ways to get involved with protecting and maintaining the Appalachian Trail. And the benefits are tremendous – you meet and work alongside wonderful people who share a love of the outdoors and a respect for our natural environment. And, whether it is for a just day or for a lifetime, volunteering with our trail club brings a feeling of satisfaction that you are contributing to an important and precious natural resource – the Appalachian Trail.
How do you get started? The Appalachian Trail Conservancy has information about volunteer opportunities up and down the entire trail.

For volunteer trail opportunities in Georgia, a great place to start is one of GATC’s trail maintenance events. Many volunteers spend one day with our experts learning about trail maintenance and decide they want to become part of our team. Find trail maintenance activities on our Events calendar.
