Benton MacKaye Trail Series: Boardtown Road to U.S. 76 Dayhike

This is a Tuesday in and out dayhike that starts and ends at US 76 (Hwy 515) near Cherry Log. From US 76, a four-lane highway) the hike proceeds trail north (compass west) past a BMT shelter, through a mountain subdivision of homes, up and over Patterson Mountain before descending to Boardtown Road. The hike then returns four miles by the same route to the starting point.

This is a moderately strenuous hike of about 8 miles and has 2,200 vertical feet of ascents.
