We begin this backpack on the AT with a 1.1-mile hike up Big Cedar Mountain where we will enjoy the spectacular view from Preachers Rock.  After Slaughter Gap, we will hike east to the windswept summit of Blood Mountain (elevation of 4,460 feet).   The last section is a long descent to Neel Gap.
