This backpack starts at the Savage Gulf Ranger Station and makes a loop around and through the north finger of Savage Gulf.  Moderate hike overall, but after hiking 9 miles Saturday we end the day with a 1-2 mile continuous climb coming out of the Gulf to our campsite, Hobbs Cabin Campground.   Sunday it’s a moderate 6-7 mile hike following the canyon rim with plenty of views.  We will also take a short side trip to see Savage Falls.
