We strike out for the first day of autumn in the fantastic Shining Rock Wilderness, in the mostly 5,000-6,000 feet high country just off the Blue Ridge Parkway southwest of Asheville, NC.  The weather should be moderately cool and pleasant.  Your leaders for this two-day venture are less-than-awesome old-timers who plan to take this at a modest pace, stopping to simply drink in the truly awesome vistas along the way.  It’s a wilderness loop … and unforgettable!
