This 15.8-mile stretch contains Bly Gap, which is famous for an old twisted tree that is a favorite photo opportunity.  The GA/NC border is near this tree (6.9 miles from Deep Gap and 8.9 miles from Dicks Creek).  There are some steep and rocky sections of this trail.  We will plan to have cars at both ends.  Depending on the speed of the group and the weather, there are both campsites and shelters for use.  There is a campsite at Bly Gap, which will be the targeted location for the overnight stay.
