This loop trail departs Lake Winfield Scott to hike the Blood Mountain Wilderness. The moderately difficult hike treks three trails on its 5.7-mile loop: the Jarrard Gap Trail to Jarrard Gap, turning south on the Appalachian Trail, enjoying Blood Mountain’s southern elevations, and the Slaughter Creek Trail through a creek-filled valley.
